My 14th Rule...

14. Whenever something is prefixed or affixed by the phrase "no offense", the thing proceeding or following "no offense" will be something horribly offensive.
ie. "No offense or anything, but I want my daughter should be dating a black guy." "I really think Bush supporters should slit their worthless throats... no offense."
Example of the day? "Y!ph"s comments on this thread on SDA in response to this post regarding a University of Saskatchewan student rag's "Jesus giving oral sex to a Jewish banker carcicture" cartoon just weeks after the paper vowed never to show the infamous Mohammed cartoons out of respect for the Muslim faith. "Y!ph"'s comments were:
I don't have time or the sufficient sanity after the irrationality which I have been reading all morning to respond to everything on here, but I will say this. You missed every point possible.

I am not a leftist, I am not a heathen, and it was not hateful. and MOST IMPORTANTLY: MARK WATSON HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE COMIC. Y!PH WROTE AND DREW IT AND ONLY HAD INPUT FROM A CERTAIN GROUP OF INDIVUALS WHO ALSO CONSIDER THEMSELVES CHRISTIANS.
"It was not heathen, and it was not hateful." The heathen bit is perhaps the funnier of the two, it means that this individual who thinks he has something insightful to say in his student newspaper (as somebody who's had to endure lies and slander and the like from the UofA Gateway, I understand how funny this is to any conservatives in the audience) is unfamiliar with a dictionary. The hateful part is just another example of _____'s 14th Rule. Y!ph draws an offensive cartoon, and when the fur starts to fly suddenly he doesn't mean to be hateful. Like most (all?) leftists, he wants it both ways (insert your own sexual joke here).
Also, if you truly believe that fanatics are representational of all Muslims, then please, reconsider your thoughts and stop being a hypocrate.
Over at the ABFreedom blog I link to below, somebody else claims hypocrisy, this time in the case of the student paper itself. Many on the SDA comments have weighed in with similar sentiments about how hypocritical it is to have one rule for Muslims who have a propensity for violence and another rule for Christians who merely complain and protest, and then to claim it is because of your religious tolerance rather than your survival instinct in operation. However, I don't think this is the case. As I mentioned on the ABFreedom blog, the extreme left in academia believe in almost everything (sans the strict sexual morality) that the Muslim clerics do, and this is just their backing up of their own beliefs. Its dishonest to be sure, but its not hypocrisy.
First, I'll say that I think this will be my last point of involvement with this group on this topic. You can have my email address simply to alleviate Marq of the spam.

One thing though: do you realize that Jesus (Isa) is also a prophet of Islam? Therefor, I'm sure you'll see that this joke is not meant to be offensive to any specific group, so much as eye-openning.

I'll apologize formally right now to all of you for the mistake. Hopefully we can all now address our concerns to the person truly responsible, and that is myself.
Also - hopefully this can remain civil, and those concerns can be concise, and not repetative.
Furthermore, hopefully everyone who has made unnecessary remarks to entirely innocent individuals and groups, as well as slanderous comments towards liberals, so-called leftists, and especially the writers of The Sheaf and everyone connected to the institution.
Somebody else quickly tore this little posting apart with the exact thought I had: if Muslims were really that big a fans of Jesus, where are all the violent protests when His name is sullied by cartoonists and artists? Likewise odd is the "hope" that people on the Small Dead Animals blog will stop making unkind comments towards liberals, leftists, and student newspaper operators. Likewise funny is his claim that socialists and their allies are innocent groups!

Bonus linkage: I already made a comment on this post at ABFreedom's blog.

Don't forget about my baseball pool!
