Police aren't releasing a name... too bad Edmonton papers haven't heard of the internet yet

The Edmonton SUN reports "A young woman was killed and two men wounded in a hail of bullets Saturday. Police say the shooting was gang-related. The woman, whose identity police have not released, was Edmonton's third homicide victim in 24 hours in a bloody weekend on the city's streets."

The Edmonton Journal states "The female driver of the car, who was in her 20s, was killed. A male passenger in the front seat was grazed by a bullet while a second male passenger in the back seat was wounded in the throat and remains in critical but stable condition in hospital."

If only one could find out the identity of this young woman. Well, I can tell you right now that her name is Lily (or at least her alias is Lily) and that she's a member of a group (gang?) called "A.T.P." I can tell you this because there was a vigil held for her today in front of Casino Edmonton, and a sign for her was errected by her gangster friends, who know a little more than what police are telling. The ethnic makeup of the vigil was mostly asian. I tragically didn't have my camera with me, merely wanting to eat at the amazingly delicious Richard's Sub in Sherwood Park (I couldn't find it on Google Maps, but found 2 other locations in the Edmonton area, so I'll try to do some extra investigative reporting.

So back to this Lily business, I've done the obvious first state of searches: Google, MySpace, and Edmonton Online. Still on the to-do-list is YouTube and Edmonton Transit.

The success came from EO:
Lily Tran
March 19, 1983 - September 9, 2006

More on Lily:She has a modelling website with forum posts regarding her death.

"Where might we have seen you before?
You might have seen me on Tilashotspot.com. I'm also part of online communities called Myspace.com and EdmontonOnline.net"

Lily was also in UMM Magazine online.

Who is the gang link?
In the EO forum listed above, "jaggededge" states: "I heard it was her bf's Mercedes CLK and they were going after him instead but maybe it was a mistaken identity cuz from the news it looks like the car was completely tinted. Nice car though." [Those wacky 2 Fast 2 Furious asians.... -ed]

CLK is not initials of the boyfriend, it is the type of Mercedes, which the SUN describes as an $82,000 sticker price. Now we know one of the injured men is that man wanted for that home murder in Sherwood Park last year. The other is yet to be identified. One of these two men is/was Lily's boyfriend, and even the Edmonton Online forum doesn't say which. If Stephen Anthony Pillon is her boyfriend, she's involved with a murderer. If her boyfriend was the other guy, then the other guy is likely a gangster. No matter which, Lily Tran was clearly not an innocent angel. I won't be shedding a tear.

I think you should do more research on Lily Tran before you start writing things that aren't true. Do you think she deserves what happenned to her? Or she wanted it to happen? How dare you post this. Everyone in life makes mistakes. Have you ever been friends with anyone and trust them? Yes I think every single one of us did. The only mistake she made was she saw good in everyone! I don't care if you don't shed a tear. She was not someone that you knew. So fuck you for saying all the crap that was only your opinion. Maybe next time you should think that she was someone's daughter. A young woman that didn't get a chance to learn from her mistakes. Picking her friends wisely. She was someone with a good heart!
