US F-18 Hornets crash into Virginia Beach

From the photo posted we can guess that the crash happened around this area:

That puts it about a mile away from the coastline, where several large luxury hotels would have made for disastrous targets.

Update, 11:33am: The Blaze is reporting the crash was at the "900 Block" of South Birdneck Road (nice street labeling guys), which puts it far more south of the beachfront and not far from the runway approach to Oceania Naval Air Station:

I guess to be fair, I have also gotten lost driving around Virginia Beach before.
