A "Wacky Alberta Weather" question

We've had droughts before, many a lot more serious than this.

We've had heatwaves before, we've had heatwaves followed by a month of +24 and partly cloudy with scattered showers than make going camping almost impossible before too.

But does anybody remember ever before being woken up at 4am by thunderstorms on a weekly basis before?
