That’s $556,539 to incarcerate one person for one year in NYC. NYC could secure him an apartment, robust services, and much more for far less than it wastes policing, prosecuting, and jailing unhoused & mentally-ill people.
Private citizens can solve this problem for much much less by taking care of these dangerously violent druggies the moment they cause you any troubles.
